Animal
Health Companies Association of Bangladesh (AHCAB) is the only
Apex Trade Body registered with Ministry of Commerce of People's
Republic of Bangladesh registration no.C540(53)/2003, since 2003 to conduct
welfare of animal industry consist of poultry, cattle, fish, shrimp
and companion animal by promoting, educating and creating awareness
in developing a sustained the animal industry. The primary responsibility
is to protect the business interest of the members as well as
the industry stake holders. The association is also dedicated
to ensure consumer safety for the animal products and welfare
of the animal farmers by in large.

Membership Criteria |
|
|
AHCAB members
shall include any company whether it is a
sole proprietorship, partnership, joint
venture, corporation, trusts or other forms
of business entity involved in import and/or
manufacturer and marketing in Bangladesh, of
the following types of products, either
single or in combination

‘ANIMAL
HEALTH PRODUCT’ means and includes any
substance or mixture of substances intend
for preventing, destroying or controlling
any disease in animals, or help in the
general health and productivity improvement
of the animal or farm. It shall also refer
to nutritional substances which improves the
performance, feed utilization, and general
condition improvement of farm and companion
animals. |

Objective

To form an
association of the companies involved in local manufacturing and import
of veterinary medicine and nutritional products and services. |
|

|
2.

To represent
the industry in following regulatory bodies

Department of Livestock Services |
b) |
Department of Fisheries |
c) |
Drug Administration |
d) |
National Board of Revenue |
e) |
Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and
Industry |

3.

To keep and
maintain updated data, information of the industry and make them available
amongst the members’ decision-making bodies and to the poultry, dairy
and aquaculture industries. |

To establish a data bank on (Products trends and markets). |

5.
|
To build
consensus amongst the members of the association for improvement on the
quality of products both for local and imported. |

|
6.
|
Get membership
and maintain liaison with overseas allied bodies to exchange views and
ideas and share information, knowledge and skills. |

|
8.
|
Support Government Policy in creation of job opportunities for unemployed
youth, women force and rural development. |
|
|
|
9.
|
Assist farmers
in production of eggs, meat, broiler, fish and shrimps free of hazardous
chemicals and harmful drugs. |

10.
|
Patronize health, safety and environmental issues for both human and animals. |
